Abstract

The article raises the question that world history after the Great October of 1917 should be considered as an era of the Great Social Revolution, which is equivalent to the World Communist Revolution. This is the time when, according to the teachings of Marx and Engels, humanity makes a transition from its “prehistory” to the true history of people, where “the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all”, the transition from the capitalist socio-economic formation to the communist one. The idea of the communist revolution as a world-historical process, inherent in the creators of Marxism, requires, on the one hand, a revision of the doctrine that prevailed in the USSR on the possibility of building socialism on the scale of “one, separately taken, country”, and, on the other – a more accurate assessment of place and role of communist China in modern history as the leading force of revolutionary socialism.
