Abstract

In modern conditions, the transition to a healthier and more sustainable diet plays a key role in ensuring the quality of life of the population. The author of the study has developed a system of practical recommendations for strengthening regional food self-sufficiency in agricultural production, including measures to increase state support for regions to upgrade the material and technical base of agriculture, restore human capital in the industry, develop precision farming technologies of domestic production, develop forecasting systems, and ensure the transition to sustainable food systems., the elements of which have been tested in leading ministries and departments of the Russian Federation. Based on the study of the influence of internal and external factors on the level of food self-sufficiency in the regions of the Russian Federation, a matrix of growth points for regional food security policy has been formed. The article presents a set of iterations proposed by the author to coordinate national food security in the context of enhancing regional engagement and building further relationships with federal executive authorities, ensuring the unity of the economic space of the regions and freedom of economic activity, structuring and implementing greater accessibility for regions in the field of innovation in the agro-industrial complex through the use of tax and investment regulatory instruments, free movement of goods and services in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
