Abstract

The present paper examines the problem of modernization and tradition in Russian province. The modernization is considered as a process of an achievement of the state of Western modern (postmodern) at the one hand. At the other it is considered as the process of development that could have another direction, which was revealed in Russian province. The analysis presented in the paper is aimed on identification of the traditions that allow or even stimulate changes. The relation between conservationists and innovative features of the traditions is analyzed; the value of the local place and orientation to education of children is emphasized especially. The main features of the innovations that could be accepted and could be created by local community are revealed as well as unacceptable changes. The paper examines also the problem of the development of the institutes of modernity (postmodern) in Russian. Several reasons of the instructional building failures are revealed. The role of the formalized interactions and organizational structures in the traditional patterns is considered.
