Inequalities, poverty and social policies in Brazil

Abstract

The article is devoted to the investigation of social policies and its peculiarities in the wake of growing inequalities and poverty. The analysis of welfare programs structure provided for by the Brazilian government suggests that social-political consent is vital in the actualization of political and socioeconomic development strategy. The mechanisms of interests concurrence are decisive in the process of formation, agreement and implementation of social policies by the political actors in conditions of growing influence on the part of international financial-economic and political institutes, given the globalization-glocalization processes and in determination of cooperation areas within trade-economic alliances of countries such as BRICS.
