Abstract

This collection of articles contains general theoretical, historical and practical insights into Russian education. There is a special focus on the results of sociological research concerning the problems of inequality with respect to obtaining high-quality education, professional orientation of school children and youth, the level of prestige of various professions, the role of education in the development and sustenance of the social structure of society. Other matters such as the link between science and education, the international activities of Russian universities, and the use of the Russian language as a study and communication tool abroad are also covered in this edition.
