Abstract

In the crisis of соntemporary democracy and its main institutions to the fore comes the problem of involvement in politics as many citizens as possible not only through the institutions of representation, but also through other forms of direct participation and deliberation. This issue is in the spotlight of contemporary theory of democracy, which analyzes the main vectors of the changes and evaluates the prospects of updating democracy, its adaptation to changing social, socio-cultural and political conditions.
