The author argues, that archaic evolution of civic education had not straight forward line. They rather represented logically and culturally vedry loosely and randomly connected practisies and experiments. Civic didactics of the european premodern times - polis, civitas, early christianity - were constructed round different value-oriented and socially determined concepts - e.g. civic participation, human rights, civic merits. And occasionally - civic responsibility and public rethorics.
