Abstract

The article deals with one of the manifestations of phantom phenomena and processes in contemporary Russian society — political clowns. Based on extensive documentary material, the essence of the most visible representatives of this kind of phantoms is considered, which include such traits as thirst for power, possession of capital and a desire to have the glory. The author resorts to the metaphorical description of the political clowns phenomenon when their essence, main features and methods as well as the consequences of their activities in the political and social life in Russia is analyzed.
