Sexual offences: individual trauma vs deficit of social efforts?

Abstract

The object of the research are sexual offences against women as an intervention into individual right on inviolability. Stories written by victims presented on two Russian Internet sites are analyzed – “Real stories of real persons” and “Vetka ivy”. The subject of research are consequences of breaching the inviolability of a person. Analyze of voluntary anonymous narratives of sexual offences reveal some features of victim behavior, social perception of sexual offences and a massive latent nature of this kind of criminality. The social meaning of sexual violence is being discussed, as much as pitiful social measures to prevent this kind of criminality.
