Abstract

The article considers the problem of the influence of social environment on the development of young people. It is shown that the Russian youth learns the dominant social concepts, norms and values of the relationship between the individual, citizens and the state. Particular attention is paid to the processes of civic socialization and formation of civic identity of young people, and these processes are caused by the relationships with public institutions more, than with their fellow citizens. At the same time young people identify themselves with the most dynamic and active social communities, in which they realize their interests, move towards achieving their life-goals, reach well-being, etc. There is a middle area of the weak social interactions, where there are no conditions for the formation and implementation of civil competencies. But this area is most suitable for the prevention of extremism.  The bodies of state power and administration at all levels, the educational institutions, families, local communities and, of course, the individuals themselves have best conditions for constructive interaction in this area. It is concluded that the extremism prevention is most effective in the radius of the local community in the interaction of all stakeholders.
