Abstract

We describe the basic principles and basic procedures of JSM method of automated support research and experience of its use in relation to the problems of empirical sociology (within projects supported by the RFBR). DSM method is an instrument of formalized qualitative data analysis. It has special abilities and limits of applicability. The method is used to analyze the causal dependencies in the data submitted by the positive, negative and uncertain examples relationship subject Þ behavior. Designed by the authors of a set of documents include algorithmic and software procedures implemented for the generation of inductive inference determinants of social behavior, procedures similar to the output of its forecasting and making procedures generated by abductive hypotheses. The method can work with small samples and qualitative (not quantitative) data to identify the empirical structure of generalizing concepts and carry out a typological analysis, elements of which are real individuals, not their characteristics as in the statistical analysis of the typological.
