Transformation of gender order in CIS countries: institutional factors and mass politics effects

Abstract

The articles attempts to answer the question of the changes in gender order across CIS countries (and Baltic states as a reference group) in recent twenty years: if it was aimed at equalizing social opportunities (status, positions) of men and women or, on the contrary, at deepening the inequality (gender gaps). The analysis is supported by the data of Global Gender Gap Reports made at World Economic Forums in Davos. The article uses the data obtained to give a picture of gender inequality in different life spheres in any given country and to determine the global gender gap in worldwide rating position.
