Trofimova I.N. Socio-political attitudes and orientations of today's Russian youth

Abstract

The role of generations is of particular importance for the Russian society in the context of transit processes. The study of the youth' attitudes to politics makes it possible to reveal the results of a sort of  generational selection of public consciousness, showing the direction and speed of changes taking place in society. The paper discusses the results of representative sociological survey. The backgrounds, orientations and attitudes of today's Russian youth in politics are shown.  As a theoretical and methodological framework is used the set of provisions showing the specifics of political orientations and political behavior of different generations and at the same time, continuity and common socio-cultural foundation.
