Russian pre-school education system employs a large proportion of professionals who have long work experience and over the retirement age. These pre-school teachers are those who chose and started working in the former USSR, during the time when welfare and social security were provided by the government rather than the employees themselves. In the few coming years this part of pre-school teachers in Russia will retire and we believe that the generational change will affect some of the group’s meaningful metrics. At the same time we should take into account the development of private preschool kindergartens and we suggest that dynamics of social and professional status of specialists working in the private and public sectors will be different.
