Current transformation of higher education and universities for sustainable development is under the consideration. The transformation frequently called by the researches as the reinvention of the university leads to crucial reformulation of universities' missions and strategies, curricula and scinetific programs, educational didactics. But this transit towards the sustainablew university is still a free choice, giving place to coexistence of multimodel universities sphere in the global world. New understanding of global and local resnopsibilities stimulates changes in managerial models, inner university spaces and self-regulations. The case of Ca' Foscari university shows how adoption of a renewed ethical code motivated depp institutional and substantial transformations./
