The study of this problem makes it possible to identify a kind of adaptation of different types of territorial communities to the changes taking place in a moral sphere. Being based on the results of sociological monitoring, this study analyzes the attitude of inhabitants in the different types of settlements towards moral norms, as well as the willingness to comply with or violate them. A theoretical and methodological basis of research is the set of provisions considering the moral as an important factor of social interactions. It is shown that the moral attitudes towards social interaction in today's Russian society are quite contradictory. The Russians note the deterioration of the quality of social interactions, but show tolerance to violation of social norms. It is concluded that there is growing conflict between culture and social environment, which have different dynamics and offer different answers to the challenges of time.
