Abstract

Reviewed trends in the health status of the population of Russia for last 12 years. Presented the basic principles of Russian social policy in the field of health, the difficulties and problems associated with its implementation. One of the main problems is that health is still not perceived as capital, and the person is not a subject but an object of social policy. Examines the legislative framework of the health sector, funding mechanisms, regional programs for the health care of the population.
