Abstract

The paper deals with phenomenon of nostalgia for the Soviet past in Post-Soviet Armenia. Empirical research data, represented in the paper, was collected using qualitative methods of sociology within the research school «Boarder and rural researches: fieldwork methods development» that was held in three locations of Armenia — Erevan, Agarak and Megri in 2008. The paper considers nostalgia for the USSR along with the other benefits of the past as an important resource for supporting individual and group identity of Post-Soviet Armenia dwellers.
