Abstract

Current transformation of higher education and universities for sustainable development is under consideration. Creating visions of the future of sustainable unversity we face the necessaty of crucial changes of mission and meanings of higher eucation, global and local roles of the very universities. The future is unpredictably linked to metadidactics and intitutional shifts. The UN decade of sustainable education (2004-2015) has shown the challenges of holistic pedagogy, cross-cultural models and new university applied ethics. Among the main trends are: (a) renewal of programs, (b) intitutional retrofit, (c) the model of glocal uiniversity, as a concrete-utopian paradigm of the susrainable future.
