Abstract

In recent years, both in Russia and abroad there is growing interest in the issues of childhood. The circle of persons interested in obtaining relevant information about children expands. Social protection authorities, youth policy, education, child ombudsnmen, experts in the field of evaluation of projects and programs have the need for such knowledge. The article discusses the experience of study in child care institutions that asked children about their well-being and rights. On the basis of the study we have examined the factors of reliability and validity of the survey of children, as well as how they can be improved. Recommendations are given for the survey of children, as well as areas for further development of methods of application of questionnaires to the children’s audience.
