Abstract

The article analyzes the elements of the social portrait of the youth cohort in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on the basis of the mass survey in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) held in 2013, as well as focus group materials with youth and expert interviews in Yakutsk and Mirny), satisfaction with life among young people and evaluation of their own prospects in the ethnic context. It was revealed that the youngest generation (18-25 years old), in the framework of our analysis in the republic, is similar in many respects to its social attitudes, but the sakha-yakut youth are more inclined to paternalism. The growth of popularity of professions related to industrial production and industrial production among sakha-yakut youth and related changes in the structure of employment (equalization of the shares of workers and employees in the Yakuts) is expressed. In terms of the degree of satisfaction with life, young people do not stand out from the whole massif, but russian young people express somewhat more dissatisfaction.
