Abstract

We are exploring the emerging ideas about civil, Russian identity, its impact on ethnic prejudices and ideas about common goals that can unite our society. Analysis of the results of surveys in Karelia, Stavropol in 2016 and the Republic of Tatarstan in 2011-2012. and 2017, as well as the materials of in-depth interviews in these subjects of the federation, found that civil identity practically does not remove emotional prejudice concerning abstract others, but positively influences attitudes towards direct interethnic communication in the labor and informal spheres when rational and the regulatory components of attitudes and identities.
