Abstract

The article assesses the effectiveness of interaction between government and society in the context of regulating inter-ethnic relations. Based on the mass survey data, the authors conclude that there is insufficient coordination of the political activity of the authorities and the expectations of the population of the regions of the South of Russia. The activation of the role of regional authorities and municipalities in the regulation of interethnic relations is supported by the population of all regions. The main incentives for such activity are the expansion of funding sources and the activation of civil society institutions.
