Abstract

Identity is considered as a complex phenomenon that includes role prescriptions and statuses. The relevant regulations are the key points of the individual’s actual life situation and his life journey, including the one planned. However, this set represents the basic repertoire of propositions forming the society. As such, a set of identities acts as the actual self-consciousness of the person. The main archetypes of Russian historical consciousness as well as their role in shaping identities are analyzed.
