Abstract

The problem of interrelations of civilization identities during last decades attracts a growing attention of researchers. Moreover, it is now treated mainly in its conflicting aspect, in the framework of the “clash of civilizations” discourse (and, correspondingly, of identities proper to these civilizations). In the Balkan region, from 1990s, such a clash was particularly severe, up to many-years bloodsheds (that is conditioned by the previous complicated history of inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relations in the region); it can in some degree serve as a demonstration of one of possible variants of the further development in the global scale.
