Abstract

The article analyzes the specifics of the sociological approach and specifically sociological methods in the study of migration. The key question of this article is why does sociology play an important role in the study of migration and ethnic processes? Particular attention is paid to the role of sociology in studies of migration and ethnicity. The history of migration research, convergence of research methods is briefly examined. The author asserts that there are processes of diffusion of the object and objects of research.
