Abstract

The article examines the specific functioning of the channels of intergenerational social mobility in the Rostov region. Based on the results of sociological research, the author analyzes the effectiveness and accessibility of such channels as the family, education and personal connections, in the conditions of inequality of socio-professional positions. The author comes to the conclusion that, being the most effective for successful social advancement in the mass consciousness, the allocated channels of intergenerational mobility work differently: the social origin associated with the degree of prestige of the social and professional status of parents, largely determines the specificity and effectiveness of their use.
