The research was of a complex nature, the procedures for collecting empirical data included the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods, the representativeness of the research procedures carried out was ensured by a multistage stratified sample, tested in previous studies. For a mass questionnaire survey, the sample was 1050 people aged 14 to 30 years, more than fifteen in-depth expert interviews were conducted, as well as a series of focus groups. The work analyzes political culture, forms of poetic participation and the level of protest activity of Don youth. The authors conclude that modern youth have weakened sociocorporate ties and there are no social groups whose political behavior can cause imitative reactions. Socially successful people (showmen, figures of mass culture, etc.) attract the attention of young people with incomes, fame, but not with political views and positions.
