Abstract

The report is devoted to the analysis of the interethnic relations assessment in the report of the Federal Agency of Ethnic Affairs for 2017 and the materials of the all-Russian surveys of the Institute of Sociology of the FCTAS RAS. These materials recorded not only positive dynamics, but also certain risks.  The contradictions in the understanding of ethnicity as an ethnocultural phenomenon in political discourse, as well as ethnicity in different spheres of life in the real practice of 2017-2018 are shown. There is a decrease of tension in interethnic relations in the whole country, but ethnic identity remains quite relevant not only in the republics.
