The Internet technology, which can be easily mastered by a child, presents great difficulties to an older person. The article analyzes the involvement of people born before the advent of the Internet era in the Internet space. The authors limit themselves to analyzing the interaction of the age group over 51 with the Internet. As an empirical research base, we have used the RLMS-HSE data from the National Research University Higher School of Economics and ZAO «Demoscope» in conjunction with the Carolina Population Center, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the RAS Institute of Sociology.
