Abstract

The article describes the main provisions of the Interregional conference Positive parenting: modern approaches to social services for families with children in St. Petersburg, held on May 15-16, 2018.  The aim of the conference was to exchange experience between experts in the field of social care for family and children, to determine effective directions of social assistance to families and children in difficult situations, to discuss successful practices in the social service system and difficulties in the organization of effective work with family and children. The main topics of discussion at the Conference were aspects of the implementation оf the concept of Family policy, the situation of children in St. Petersburg, the role of institutions in the implementation of social protection of families and children. In addition, conference participants discussed practical implementation of results of the first wave of the study Social trajectories of childhood in modern Russia, which involved 246 respondents.
