Abstract

This article deals with the problem of the formation of the value basis of the socio-political development of Russia. Based on the common opinion today, without a clearly defined goal of development, no movement is possible, the author shows the weakness of the main ideological concepts that dominate the public discourse of contemporary Russia. The main disadvantage of the existing quantitative methods of value measurements (Hofstede, Schwartz, Inglehart and others) seems to be that they all take as a reference point some arbitrarily taken “super-value”. The article proves that “super-value” cannot be justified from itself and must be based on the value of an even higher order. From this it is concluded that it is necessary to search for overvaluedness, which really meets both the national cultural code and the urgent tasks of development. The article is not so much an answer as a question and invites all interested researchers to the discussion.
