Abstract

The article attempts to identify the relevance of social experience of the Soviet past in everyday practices and communicative memory of different groups of the population in the South of Russia. Based on the results of sociological research, the authors conclude that the frequency of occurrence of social life forms determines the everyday experience of the inhabitants of the South of Russia one way or another. It is manifested in self-identification with the Soviet people, and in the relegitimation of social attitudes based on the state collectivism and paternalism values. At the same time, the conscious-ness of low-income strata of the population of all age cohorts, socially vulnerable groups of young people, rural residents demonstrate the greatest inertia.
