In the process of modernization of East Asia (China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan), India, Indonesia as the involvement of women in work outside the home, sociologists capture the trend of egalitarian relations between the sexes, the distribution of families with two earners. In the transition period from the socialist to the liberal states, in particular, in the countries of Eastern Europe, the influence of religious conservative family values on the consciousness of young people is less significant than the Western ideas of individualization and permissiveness. In the developed countries – USA, Europe, Australia, Canada, the gender revolution has led to a diversity of gender ideologies. At least in European countries empirically recorded five models: the egalitarian, egalitarian essentialism, the intensive parenting, moderate conservative ideology and conservative ideology. The analysis of studies of students ' attitudes in the fields of gender and family relations in different countries shows that the main differentiating variables are gender and religious identity. Other characteristics: urban-rural origin, structure of the parent family, joint-separate education are less important. According to the approach of life course, attitudes of adolescents and young people to the social roles of men and women and future marriage are changing under the influence of peers, mass culture and their own experience. From the point of view of successful marriage and parenthood, it is important to match the settings in the pair.
