Abstract

Institutionalism is a methodology for studying a wide range of problems - functioning and development of political communities, maintaining internal order, distribution of power and influence within and between communities, decision-making processes, political behavior and political action. The publication, chapter of the most solid Russian publication on the methodology of political science at the moment, traces the origins and development of institutionalism, from the old to the new, shows the basic principles and techniques, variants of a new institutional theory - normative, historical, evolutionary, rational choice, constructivist, network, organization and state, international relations. The authors use Institutional methodology to study the issues of constituting citizens' policies in Russia and forming development strategies.
