Abstract

The article analyzes the stages of the evolution of labor meanings. At the first stage, the meaning of labor was in the desire to obtain material benefits, which were mainly achieved through wages. At the second stage, the meaning of labor acquired the need to take into account all the components of the worker’s labor process - from pay to providing a benevolent environment for performing  labor functions. At the next stage, the meaning of labor began to include the needs of participation in production management, and the opportunity to express one’s creative potential. At the present stage, the meaning of labor has required a comprehensive account of all the basic motivations of the worker, both as a citizen, and as a resident, and as a representative of his immediate environment. Speaking about the meanings of labor in the future, we can assume that in the conditions of a dramatic change in technics, technologies associated with the use of digitalization of basic economic and social processes, the expansion of artificial intelligence, the introduction of flexible production systems, we must speak his fan due to the changing circumstances of the fourth industrial revolution
