Abstract

The relevance of the topic is due to the presence of a continuing unstable socio-economic situation in modern society, which creates a lack of equal opportunities in ways to solve the housing problem. The purpose of the study is to study the causes of territorial mobility in the EU countries. The subject of the study was the manifestation of social mobility on a territorial basis among citizens and residents of the European Union in the context of housing inequality. The research methodology is based on the study of descriptive statistics of socio-demographic and cross-country differences presented by Eurostat, on the basis of which the indicators of territorial mobility were assessed. Results. The study of inequality in solving housing problems in the EU countries revealed how the difference in the economic systems of business corporations affects the speed and scale of social and territorial mobility of EU citizens. This phenomenon plays a significant role in the development of effective housing policy in the EU countries.
