Abstract

The bulletin presents the results of studies of interethnic relations conducted in 2019 in the Russian republics of Tatarstan and Sakha (Yakutia). The articles present a wide range of issues related to relations between Russians and people giving names to republics, as well as people of other nationalities in the labor and informal spheres of life. The assessment of interethnic relations in the republics and cities of various types, rural settlements and the level of trust are analyzed. The article considers the level of actualization of ethnic identity of ethnic Russians, Tatars, Sakha (Yakuts) and the ratio of all-Russian civil and ethnic identity. The elements of ethnic negativity and discrimination on a national basis, the scope of their manifestation are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the urgent problems of regulating contradictions in the study of state languages in the republics, equal opportunities for people regardless of nationality, the attitudes towards migrants and the prospects for adaptation of foreign citizens are shown. The peculiarity of the articles is that they provide comparative monitoring data for the republics, and at the same time, the results of surveys in the republics are compared with the all-Russian data of the Federal Agency for Nationalities - WCIOM, the monitoring surveys of the Institute of Sociology of  the FCTAS RAS under the direction of M.K. Gorshkov and the monitoring surveys RLMS-HSE. The studies were carried out by the research staff of the Center for the Study of Interethnic Relations of the Institute of Sociology of the FCTAS RAS together with scientists from Tatarstan and Sakha (Yakutia) with the support of the republican structures responsible for interethnic relations.
