Abstract

The article proposes a new approach to the study of interethnic relations. According to the author, the use of the “conflict - tolerance” dichotomy for this purpose is outdated. Interethnic relations have their own qualitative structure associated with the ethnopsychological and ethnocultural characteristics of peoples. The dynamics of interethnic marriage can serve as one of the indicators of the quality of interethnic relations, because simply good relations between peoples do not necessarily lead to an increase in the share of marriages between their representatives. The author will try to reconstruct the foundations of the sociocultural scenario of interethnic relations in society based on the analysis of the dynamics of interethnic marriage and its perception by the public consciousness.
