Both mass surveys of the population were conducted in 4 regions of the Russian Federation: Moscow and Belgorod Oblast, the Republic of Bashkortostan and Kalmykia by the questionnaire method. The focus is on the analysis of the results of a mass survey of the population regarding the attitude to the activity of the power-management vertical. A comparative analysis confirmed a number of provisions put forward in 2015. In particular, it is shown that, depending on the level of socio-cultural development, public assessments are changing both in relation to the current state of affairs in the region, and in relation to the actions of government and administration. In addition, the results obtained prove the stability of those identified in accordance with the development of Lapin N.I. a typology of levels of regional development according to the criterion of sociocultural modernization, where the Moscow region belongs to a high level, the Belgorod region and the Republic of Bashkortostan to an average level, and the Republic of Kalmykia to a low level. A comparative analysis showed the reliability of the selected methodological tools, which made it possible to trace the dynamics of changes in public opinion and record both general trends and features of the assessments obtained in each of the surveyed regions.
