The analysis is based on a pairwise comparison of the main indicators of life of different groups of elderly people, classified according to the principle: single/family, feeling lonely/not feeling lonely. Significant differences in social well-being, health status, income level and other aspects of life among single and family members of the older generation are shown. Lonely elderly people are more suspicious and anxious, but also more attentive to themselves and their resources, for example about health: there is less share of smokers among them, and the share of taking vitamins and useful minerals, and also dietary Supplements is higher. Loners care more about themselves and their comfort. They less trust, more cautious, they have fewer expectations of life. Accordingly, single pensioners are more stable and psychologically resourceful. An important resource for adaptation to lonely old age and faith in God.
