Drawing on the classical ideas of A. van Gennep and V. Turner about the nature of rites de passage, as well as some relevant sociological ideas (of A. Schütz, E. Goffman, et al.), the author contributes with theoretical reconstruction of the types of status liminality, including ascending, descending, recursive, permanent liminality, as well as liminoidity.
