Abstract

The author analyzes the results of the Victory of the Soviet people in the great Patriotic war. He examines the deep origins of the confrontation between the West and Russia, the causes of the war, which are linked to Hitler's expansionism and the indulgence of Western powers. The positive achievements in world development resulting from the defeat of fascism are irreversible in spite of any attempts to distort and diminish the world-historical significance of the Victory.
