The focus is on the flow of labor mi-grants between Russia and the Central Asian countries. The article deals with an analysis of the migra-tion pattern that developed in the pre-pandemic period. It is determined that the share of women in the migration flow to Russia is about 45%. Most of them come to Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Migrant women are mainly employed in trade, construction and manufacturing. It is not uncommon for foreign migrants to be employed by households. At present, a kind of gender groups of professions has been formed. For example, the vast majority of work performed by women is taking care of children, sick and elderly relatives, and helping with household management. The most affected industries are construc-tion, trade (excluding some types), beauty and leisure in the context of the spread of coronavirus. The study concludes that migrant women were less affected by the introduction of restrictive measures related to the epidemic due to the gender characteristics of employment.
