Abstract

Most quality of life studies refer to the importance of considering its environmental component, the environmental conditions of the population. However, the lack of a compact quantitative picture of the environmental situation in the territory under study inhibits the introduction of these conditions in quality of life assessments. The article proposes a solution to this problem and developed an approach to its practical implementation. The environmental factor has been introduced into the human development index, which in the environmentally adjusted version is calculated for all Russian regions.
