Abstract

This article was written on the basis of a mass survey of the population and students of secondary schools of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, conducted in the spring of 2019 by the Center for the Study of Border Regions of the Institute for Social and Political Studies of the Federal Scientific Research Sociological Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Department of Sociology of SOGU. K. L. Khetagurova. Research topic: Ossetian dances in the mirror of public opinion. During the survey, 500 residents and 250 respondents from 11th grade students of secondary schools of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania were interviewed. The sample of respondents was carried out according to the representation of various ethnic groups. During the study, 15 experts were also interviewed: specialists in choreographic art, professional dancers, former soloists of the academic ensemble, musicians, costume designer, scientists, journalists, members of the Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
