Drawing on the analysis of the scientific sources, the relationships between the science and media institutions as well as on my own 50 year experience as the researcher, I came to the following conclusions. First: the gap between the results of scientific research and the media is still widened. Second: a majority of Russian scientific schools continue to develop in a monodisciplinary manner while a world science slow but steady acquires an interdisciplinary character. Third: a time gap between a scientific discovery and its comprehension by the secondary and higher schools and the productive forces is remained. Four: such necessary tie between the scientific discoveries and their popularizing, so strong in the Soviet times, has practically disappeared. Five: the optimal and the most efficient mode of the mastering of new knowledges and crafts by means of the triad ‘science—teaching—practice’ has been replaced by a quick and partial re-teaching at the working place. Six: recently only separate researchers are capable to reanimate the tie ‘scientific discovering—social practice’ which our great thinkers as M. Lomonosow, V. Vernadsky, P. Kapitza and many others saw necessary. Seven: today the science and the media have different languages of communication. Therefore, a direct translation of a new knowledge into a society by means of the media is impossible. Eight: the gap between a growing interest of a global community to so-called techno-science and a diminishing attention to the biological and social consequences is growing, and the current pandemia is one of the results of it.
