Abstract

The publication presents the first research experience of the scientific sections of the House of scientists M. Gorky RAS for 100 years of its existence. The book reveals the mission of the house of scientists at different stages of its history: as a center for saving scientists from hunger after the revolution of 1917 and during the great Patriotic war, when the house of scientists was used as a hospital for the wounded, and as a shelter for needy scientists. In the post-war Period, the house of scientists opened its potential as a unique center for interdisciplinary communication, transfer and development of knowledge. The role of leading scientists of Petrograd – Leningrad – Saint Petersburg, selflessly conducting work on the management of scientific sections in different fields of science is shown. The cultural and educational activities of the house of scientists are reflected.  For historians of science, scientists of natural, humanitarian and social Sciences, postgraduates and students.
