A distinctive feature of the population aged 65+ is its serious vulnerability to Covid-19, which is aggravated in our country. At the same time, women of retirement age have a high risk of social isolation. For many Russian pensioners with low per capita income and no savings, the prevailing behavior is a survival strategy. Coronavirus is most dangerous for the older generation. On the one hand, in this regard, they are affected by a stricter regime of selfisolation. On the other hand, as many medications have side effects, so self-isolation, according to many researchers, does not affect the body of elderly people in the best way. The problems exposed by the new type of coronavirus pandemic are not so much medical or biological, but political and social. It is today that the question of what Russia chooses not only for the elderly, but for all present and future generations is being resolved.
