Abstract

The article examines the socio-economic situation in the southern municipal districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The work is based on the results of a study of the socio-economic views of the population of the southern municipal districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, carried out in the winter of 2020 by the Volga branch of the FNISC RAS. The aim of the study is to comprehensively study the public opinion of the population of the southern municipal districts on the socio-economic situation. To achieve these goals, the following tasks were solved, aimed at identifying the main problems affecting the social well-being of the population, as well as studying the main parameters that determine the socio-psychological climate in the area. When assessing the socio-economic situation in the southern districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the fact that these territories belong to the agrarian type of production was taken into account. The dependence of respondents' answers to questions related to social well-being, assessments of life in the district and the work of authorities on the level of material well-being is clearly visible in the groups satisfied - dissatisfied and confident - uncertain. An analysis of the problem field shows that a significant part of the problems that are relevant for residents of the southern municipal districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region, in one way or another, are associated either with a low income level or with a high level of household expenditures.
